Larry Weaner, in addition to being a well-known landscape designer and native meadow specialist, studies musical composition. His multimedia opera Yip and Al premieres at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival on September 19th and 20th.

Yip and Al follows the story of a hobo traveling through Depression-era America and the subsequent experiences of his descendents. The piece features an original score and historic and contemporary photography.  To find out more about this unique event and to purchase tickets, visit YipAndAl.com.

In addition to his composition work, Larry has explored the connections between musical composition and landscape design. In 2012 he lectured on the topic at both the New Directions in the American Landscape conference and Yale School of Music’s Norfolk Summer Music Festival.
